A cold December

On a cold December.
by Minna Von Walden

A cold December morning, sunlight creeping through the shades, warm sheets and cozy blankets. She rolls away from the sunlight, stretching her arm across the bed, searching for him.

The warmth of him, the sound of him breathing. The rise and fall of his chest with each breath. The feel of his skin beneath her fingers. The firmness of his body pressed against hers.

Reaching, stretching, searching… for him. Sheets, cool empty sheets stretching across her bed. An empty bed is all she finds. A bed no longer cozy, but cold and dreary without him.
